Owner operator Michelle has an energetic and passionate approach to business, building and managing relationships like the pro that she is. Her client list reads like the ‘who’s who’ of New Zealand; travellers who appreciate her knowledge, expertise, and 24 hour service.

Michelle has been nominated two years in a row by the industry in the TAANZ National Travel Industry Awards as the Best Travel Agency Manager – Retail.

Her other passions include her family, keeping fit with yoga, spending quality time with her partner and friends over a wine or two, and travelling to new and exciting destinations.

In the days of the internet & people being able to book their own travel, I’m often asked “Do people still use travel agents?” My response is simple, “yes they do, people can also cook but they still eat out at restaurants when they’re after something special”. Another misconception is it’ll cost more using a travel agent, which is simply not the case. If you’re like me, your time is valuable, you still want the personal service, the backup of a professional, someone who has the resources, contacts, & knowledge to help you plan what is right for you as it’s not a matter of one size fits all, everyone is different & the difference is in the details.

Your holiday leave and travel dollars are precious, so why put your faith in a faceless, nameless website? You deserve expert advice and value for your dollar. Go retro and use a travel agent!

I caught the travel bug after going on my OE in my early 20’s. I’ve enjoyed creating holidays for my clients over the last 20yrs which are both memorable and value for money. I like to share my knowledge & ideas and feel privileged to have long lasting relationships with my clients.

Donna has a world of travel experience (literally!) She’s lived and breathed the travel industry for the majority of her working life, selling travel from the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand for nearly 30 years. Donna is a warm and friendly person who thrives on nurturing customer relationships, and her good humour is enhanced by a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding.

Donna’s passion for travel has taken her to the North America, USA, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, China, Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Africa, most of the Pacific Islands and all over Australia.  Donna has also discovered the art of cruising having just completed her first cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico - now she’s hooked!

When not at work Donna is kept busy with her husband, teenage daughter and son, a black lab, 3 bossy cats and a goldfish. She loves spending time with her family, travelling, great food and excellent wine, cooking, watching ALL sports, and iscurrently working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Lisa has over 28 years’ experience in the corporate and leisure travel business and is our newest team member. She brings a huge amount of experience and knowledge, particularly in the UK/Europe region, having worked for a trade-fair travel representative for many years. If you need expert advice on visiting Europe and attending a tradeshow in one of Europe’s many cities then Lisa is your contact. 

When not at work you can find Lisa spending time with family and working in the garden of their lifestyle block.

‘Attention to detail’ and ‘building long lasting relationships’ are two catch phrases that Cindy uses to describe herself.  After 30 years’ experience in the travel industry, Cindy’s destination and airfare knowledge is strong – among the best in the industry. Cindy specialises in looking after business clients who not only want prompt response times, but also want to know that their travel plans will be booked without error. Cindy will ‘get it right’ for them first time and generally take the stress out of corporate travel. 

After hours you will find Cindy at the Netball courts, at the gym, running (yes, she is an exercise junky) or chilling with family and friends.

Margaret’s career in travel started 26+ years ago with a cadetship in a major travel company experiencing both the retail and wholesale side of travel.  She found her passion in retail travel, dealing directly with the customer; sharing her experience and knowledge to ensure their desired travel experience.

The hard work goes in at the beginning – planning and finding the best itinerary and the sharpest deal. What makes the travel business so rewarding for Margaret is feedback from excited clients energised from their trip and looking forward to planning their next. She can’t get enough of it!

Margaret is Quay Travel’s cruise expert; she has spent many years selling cruises to her clients and building up a huge knowledge base. She can help you find the most suitable cruise depending on your budget, the style of cruising you want to experience, and your dream destination. 

Her husband Antoine was relieved when they started a family, saying, “At last I can keep her in the country.” Two teenage boys and a mini-Margaret later and he is well and truly resigned to the fact that this “travel-bug thing” is a life-long addiction! A North Shore girl born & bred, when not at work she is involved in the community with the family down at Mairangi Bay Surf Club, at North Harbour Waterpolo, North Shore Swim Club or the many school activities her children are involved with.

Nikki’s passion for travel started after travelling to Egypt at the tender age of 16. With over 5 years experience in the travel industry, Nikki is the youngest member of the Quay Travel team. She enhances the broad spectrum of ideas and perspectives that contribute to Quay Travel’s wealth of knowledge.

Nikki is our short haul corporate travel specialist and has the ability to get her clients where they need to be in the fastest and most economical way possible. She brings enthusiasm and determination and has the drive to grow and succeed. Through efficiency and attention to detail, Nikki delivers exceptional service with warmth and a sense of humour, whilst empathising with the traveller to ensure their needs are met.

Nikki is also passionate about technology, with a firm belief that we can always improve our ability to engage, communicate and provide excellent service to our clients through technology. She is also our key facilitator in social media for Quay Travel.

Nikki has travelled to the United Kingdom, a bit of Europe, China and Hong Kong, Indonesia, Rarotonga, Fiji and New Caledonia and has her sights on North America as soon as she can. When not at work, Nikki enjoys competitive sports and is a keen advocate for a healthy body and healthy mind.

“I really enjoy supporting both the travel managers and our customers and pride myself on getting our customer reporting completed on time and accurately.”

Denise has worked in the travel industry for over 20 years in both consulting and administration roles, and keeps the office going with her financial and organisational skills.

She offers behind the scenes support to the team in her role as finance manager and also assists our corporate clients with financial matters such as consolidated billings and reporting requirements.

In her spare time, Denise enjoys taking road trips with her husband and discovering New Zealand.
